We have just been advised that the ILA walked off the job at all the terminals in the Port of NY/NJ. The matter has been referred to the NYSA, and counsel.
Please be aware there will be delays with delivering and retrieving cargo in and out of these area terminals. The Port Authority of NY/NJ just announced that no new trucks will be allowed to queue up outside of any NYC terminal.
At this time, we are not aware of the reason for this work stoppage and we are uncertain how long it will last. We will advise once we have an update. Also note, we are not sure if the steamship lines or the terminals are going to extend free time on containers already at the terminal with the last free day of today, until the strike ends, so please be aware that additional charges may occur.
