CMA CGM (America) LLC is announcing the following changes to tariff CMDU-102 rule 021.B. This change will go into effect June 1st, 2016, and affect the following; import/export overweight containers.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT ADDITIONAL for SPECIAL CHASSIS
Unless otherwise specified, a special equipment additional (Precarriage or Oncarriage) shall apply to all U.S. inland point shipments arranged by the carrier moving via truck (motor) transport mode, whether all motor or combined motor/rail transport, or ramp inland points requiring cross-town drayage.

 

 
This additional shall apply, per unit, for cargo moves described under sections A) OR B) listed, whether U.S. inland rate is included in base ocean rate or if inland rate is applied under inland construction basis. For the purpose of this rule charge covers provision of special chassis in conjunction with cost for road overweight permit as required within U.S. inland point movement.

 

 
Special equipment additional charge:
USD 250 per 20′ container
USD 325 per 40′ or 45 container (2)
A) If Carrier must arrange provision of Special chassis equipment for any reason, special equipment additional charge shall apply.
B) If weight of container cargo Gross weight (defined as cargo weight including packaging but excluding container, chassis and traction unit) EXCEEDS weights levels listed herein.

40′ Standard 20.1 Metric Tons or 44,313 Lbs

Special chassis equipment is not always available from all U.S. Locations and is subject to availability at time of shipment. Carrier is not responsible to have triaxle/super chassis available at origin or destination. Free time will not be extended for any period of equipment unavailability.
Should actual weights declared to Carrier prove inaccurate, Charge will apply if weight exceeds parameters stated in section B) above. All fines, penalties and or other associated costs are for the account of the cargo.
Exception:
(1) This charge will not be assessed where Drayage occurs within port limits.
(2) If inland point move is within Local South Florida zone via Miami or Port Everglades port, the per
40’/ 45′ additional will be limited to USD 50.
