Congestion at Durban Container Terminal

Durban Container Terminal is facing heavy congestion brought on by recent adverse weather conditions, coupled with labour and maintenance issues. Transnet Port terminals (TPT) have advised that berthing delays of approximately 6 days should be expected. The main items contributing to the delays are as follows:
– Wind delays
– Yard congestion
– Intermittent system disruptions
