Dear Valued Customer,

It has been a while since the operational challenges at NTB Bremerhaven (related with the withdrawal of 8 terminal cranes for further inspection and repair) have started and we would now like to give you an update on how the situation has developed over the past months.

As communicated separately, Maersk Line has in the meantime introduced its revised East-West Network, under which our services calling Bremerhaven have been split between NTB and other Bremerhaven terminals. With this terminal split under the new network setup, we are pleased to inform that we are no longer facing operational restrictions in Bremerhaven on regular basis, despite prolonged withdrawal from service of the earlier mentioned 8 cranes at NTB. That effectively means that we no longer need to divert services calling Bremerhaven to other ports under normal conditions.

At the same time, the continued reduction in available equipment at NTB does limit the port’s ability to handle additional peaks of volume, which means that on ad hoc basis we still may need to make use of alternative ports – such as Wilhelmshaven and Hamburg – to accommodate these peaks.

With these recent developments we are confident you will experience service improvements as we are continuously committed to providing most optimal transportation solutions for your cargo.

Should you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your Maersk Line customer service agent.

Yours sincerely
