Situation in Spanish Ports – Backup Concept

Dear Customer,
As you may already know from public news, there are strikes announced for all Spanish ports in week 8. Even before the start of these strike actions, we are facing already now severe slowdowns and operational issues forcing us to omit some Spanish port calls on an ad-hoc basis. All our transatlantic services calling Spain – MPS, MGX, MCA and MES – are potentially affected.
In order to ensure a continued service for your cargo even during this operationally difficult time, Hapag-Lloyd has decided to set up a dedicated feeder that will connect the hub ports of Cagliari and Genoa with Barcelona and Valencia.
This feeder will carry Spanish import- and export cargo in cases where our direct transatlantic services need to omit a Spanish port.
The first sailing of this temporary feeder from the hub port of Cagliari will be on Thursday, February 16, 2017
