As a customer-focused organisation, UASC is committed to continuously delivering new and enhanced service patterns. Today, we are pleased to announce that UASC and Hamburg Süd have signed a global cooperation agreement that will connect one of the fastest growing carriers in the East-West trades with one of the leading North-South carriers. The agreement will provide access to the South America trade routes for our customers, enabling service diversification that cements UASC as an emerging global carrier.

 

Following the recent announcement of “Ocean Three” – our collaboration with CSCL and CMA CGM – this new cooperation further demonstrates our continuing engagement with customer requirements to provide comprehensive and reliable services. In addition to these various milestones, our investment in newbuildings, which will see UASC become the first company in the industry to become ‘LNG ready’, also illustrates UASC’s genuine commitment to designing pioneering transport solutions.

 

In summary the agreement entails UASC will enter the Europe – South America East Coast and Asia – South America East Coast trades effective from mid-2015. Whilst Hamburg Süd will enter the Asia – North Europe and Asia – US trades in December 2014 and January 2015, respectively. Initially, the cooperation will be in the form of slot exchanges, with vessel deployment opportunities being explored in due course. Further geographic scope for cooperation is currently under discussion.
