Subject: Submission of Verified Gross Mass (VGM)
Dear Mr. Bruegge,
As part of the new SOLAS regulations the requirement to submit a Verified Gross Mass (VGM) for all shipments, comes into effect on July 1, 2016.
To ensure compliance with the new regulation, MOL has been working diligently on enhancement of our systems and processes to facilitate accurate and timely VGM submission.
With this notification we would like to inform you of the options that MOL offers for submitting the VGM.
Please see the attached:
- VGM guideline leaflet, which covers the different possibilities on how to submit VGM data;
- List of the first sailings applicable for VGM submission for Europe and Africa;
- Reference guide on how to register for an account for MOL’s e-commerce solution (NAVI-GATOR)
- Template with the mandatory information required for VGM submission by email.
We offer different ways of providing the VGM for your containers. The preferred way for submission is however via one of our digital solutions. Digital submission will minimize the possibility of human error and delays in entry of the data into our systems.
We will continue to give you further updates on SOLAS should there be new developments or issues arising.
