Customer Advisory: Suspension of Draft Restrictions in the Panama Canal
Dear Valued OOCL Customer
Further to previous advisories, the Port of Panama Canal Authority has confirmed the suspension of draft restrictions in Panama. With immediate effect the maximum authorized draft for vessels transiting the Panamax locks reverts to 12.04 m (39.5 ft) Tropical Fresh Water (TFW). Panama Canal transits will therefore not experience delays related to draft restrictions.
The Port Authority further advised that no new draft restrictions may be necessary this season although water levels will continue to be monitored.
