The Chinese authorities refused to give their permission to the planned P3 alliance of  Maersk, MSC and CMA.

This new alliance would have controlled estimated 43 percent of the container capacity between Asia and Europe, about 41 percent on the Transatlantic and 24 percent on the Transpacific.
